Review for Two Worlds.
Ok, I'm going to be honest, I was giddy when i first read about this game in my game Informer magazine. The game looked amazing, and how could it be bad if it was being closely compared to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion? One of the greatest RPG's to grace the gaming shelves?
I reserved it right away, but I was let down to find out that it would bot be released in June, but in August...late August, which meant I had little time to play it because school was approaching.
Anyway, now it's out and I have it finally. Here is my review for Two Worlds, in my opinion, one of the greatest games I have ever played.
Gameplay:
Alright... to be honest, when I first started running around in the Dwarven temple, it fealt horrible. The default inverts didn't help much either, but I quickly switched those off.
After a few hours into the game however, you being to appreiate the combat. The combat is great. How can you not like wtaching your warrior clad in Heavy Gold Chainmail with the Spear of Destiny clenched in your hands, dodging might blows from a massive Ogre? It is simply fun at the worst.
The horse controls are a little iffy, but after a while when you get to famiilarize yourself with the controls and feel for the game, you just can't help not appreciating the horse combat. Riding around in your gleaming armour, the light reflecting off of the heavily polished plates, sword srawn, and charging toward a group of bandits. It is simply awesome.
The game is pretty laggy, but it's not too bad. It is understandable, as there is a massive amount of stuff in this game, a lag every now and then is a minor thing for the sheer size of the game world before you.
The world is massive, and there are very few loads. The loads are always fast, ten seconds at max. There are no loading screens while entering an outside area to a castle or town, and vice versa.
There are tons of armor and weapons... and I mean tons. There are tons of items as well.
The magic in this game is great. I love it. How can you not love it? using spells tomake zombie hands pop out of the earth to damage and hold your foe down as you summon a sekelton archer to take his health down, then finishing him off with a Lightning blast to the face.
But, a pack of wolves ambush you right after your foes defeat! So what do you do? You ressurect your fallen foe back to life again, and have him fight the wolves! Brilliant, I say.
There are tons of NPC's. Ton's of quests. Tons of fun. Need I say more?
Gameplay: 9/10
Sound:
Ahh... listen. Can you hear that music? The music in Two Worlds is stunning, and adds an epic sense to the game.
When I first started the game, and the main Menu appeared, I cringed at the ladies voice, but... now I think it's awesome, go figure...
The voice acting at first... is completely terrible. I thought that if I heard another 'perchane' or 'mayhap' I was going to decapitate someone... but later you start to grow a liking for the archaic tongue.
Sound: 7/10
Graphics:
The garphics aren't anything compared to something like Oblivion, though the size of Two Worlds squashes Oblivion. All of that details in the world make up for the graphics.
The graphics aren't bad ofcourse, they are Xbox 360 standard, but don't expect anythingspectacular in this department. The armor and weapons look very nice, as well as the enviroment.
Graphics: 6/10
Re-playibility:
There is tons of Replayibility. Tons. Start the game over as a different class, try some cheats to max out your character, replay the quests, taking a different path on them, perhaps an evil or good path.
Re-explore the world, go on a quest to find a full set of Armor, all of the same set.
There are endless things to do, which is why I truly love this game.
Re-playibility: 10/10
Overall:
8/10
You simply cannot pass this game up.
